Selection Round of 50th Inter Collegiate Cultural Youth Festival

Youth Festival is a mega cultural fest organized by Department of Student’s Development, University of Mumbai. For the Golden Jubilee Year, our college was fortunate to be appointed as host college for Selection Round – Zone -III (Literary and Fine Arts). The Selection Round of 50th Youth Festival was diligently organised by Cultural Association of the college on August 14, 2017. Inaugural Ceremony was held in Durgadevi Saraf Auditorium by lighting of lamp and seeking blessings from Goddess Saraswati by Prof. Dadarao Mhaske, District Co – coordinator of Zone III and other dignitaries. Prof. Nitin Arekar, Associate Professor CHM College and active member of Dept. of Student’s Development, University of Mumbai was the Chief Guest of the function and motivated the participants with his words of wisdom.

Student Volunteers and Teaching and Non Teaching staff worked as a team and successfully conducted thirteen events – viz Debate Group A, Debate Group B, Elocution Group A, Elocution Group B, Story Telling Group A, Story Telling Group B, Mehendi, Rangoli,Collage Making, Cartooning, On the Spot Painting, Poster Making and Clay Modelling. The participants from different colleges falling under Zone III displayed great talent and enthusiasm in all the events. Finally the selection round of fest reached to its conclusion by declaration of results and distribution of Merit Certificates to winners by Prof. Dadarao Mhaske. It was a matter of great pride that following four students from our college bagged prizes in the Selection Round:

  • Bapu Kasture – FY B.Com – Second Prize – Story Telling Group A
  • Aakanksha Prajapati – TY BCBI- Third Prize – Mehendi
  • Pratik Singh – TY B.Com – Second Prize – Cartooning
  • Tina Suthar – TY B.Com – Third Prize – On the Spot Painting

Meticulous planning and commendable efforts by everyone helped in smooth conduct of the event which was appreciated by one and all.
