TABLA / PAKHWAJ

Practical

  1. Practice to play full Tabla Lahra of a Samapadi and Bisamapadi Taal.
  2. Practice to play the Taal with Teehai of the following Taals
    1. Dhamar Taal ii ) Aada Chautal Taal, iii) Jhumra Taal vi) Pancham v) Sawari taal
  3. Accompaniment with the song/bandish/gat in above taals
  4. Ability to play and say altogether any Bols of above Taals
  5. To play bols of any Taal of the above and previous year’s Taals with Harmonium
  6. Ability to play previous and present year’s syllabus with Thaay, Dwiguna, Teen Guna, chauguna laya and Aad laya
  7. Ability to play with Indian and Western combined Rhythm Fusion.
  8. Ability to accompany minimum 45 minutes with Chhota Khyal and Thumri
      1. Knowledge of previous year’s syllabus

Theory Oral

  1. Defination or Paribhasha : Definitions of all previous year’s syllabus.
  2. Ability to write Taal lipi of all previous year’s Prescribed Taals in the syllabus.
  3. What are the Tabla Gharanas of Hindustani Music. A comparative discussion with the different Gharanas.
  4. Write a brief ( any one ) about 150 words about  Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Yashraj, Pt. Ajay Chakrabarty, Ustad Rashid Khan, Ustad Abid Hussain , Shiv Mani, Nana Panse, Koud Singh, Khabbe Hussain and Bathan Khan
  5. Complete Introduction in writing taal lipi of i) Dhamar Taal ii ) Aada Chautal Taal, iii) Jhumra Taal vi) Pancham Sawari taal
  6. Identify the Thekas of present and previous year’s Taal.
  7. Knowledge of previous year’s syllabus
