Durgadevi Saraf Junior College was established in 1975 in honor of Late Smt. Durgadevi Saraf, mother of Shri Mahavirprasad G. Saraf, the main donor of the College.
Celebrating 48 years of distinguished existence, the college has been dedicated to providing value-based education to approximately 3750 students, preparing them for the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination of Maharashtra Board.
As a linguistic minority institution, it initially began with a Commerce stream and has since expanded to include Arts and Science streams in its Junior College curriculum.
The college’s motto is “Vidya Vinayena Shobhate” (Knowledge is enhanced by Humility alone).
Its mission is “Empowerment through Value-Based Education” with a vision of “Consistent Human Enrichment and Development, Setting higher and newer goals in the pursuit of Excellence.”.
Currently situated in a six-storey building at Swami Vivekanand Road, Opp. Bajaj Hall, Malad West, Mumbai – 400 064, the college operates from 12:00 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. in two staggered sessions.
