Ramdhar Maheswari Career Counselling Centre organised a seminar for the students of Mainadevi Bajaj International School . The seminar conducted by University of Victoria, Columbia was initiated by the Study Abroad team at RMCC to guide the IB Diploma students for international studies.
The representative from University of Victoria began the seminar with an introduction to UVIC, the various procedures of how one can apply, tests, documentations, the various programs they offer, internships, campus facilities, admission criteria, living accommodation and much more. It emphasised on the various exchange programs they offer as they have more than 100 which falls under their global partnership. UVIC have partnered with a number of research institutions to provide UVic students with the opportunity to gain research experience abroad. The undergraduate and graduate students get a chance to travel abroad with UVic’s many partner universities.
The university offers a list of programs related to school of business (Bachelors in Commerce, entrepreneurship) , Fine Arts (Theatre ,music) , courses in social science, science ,law, humanities, human development ,engineering ,biomedical and many more.
They mould the student not only academically but also professionally. They have a criteria where in it is compulsory for the student to do a Co-op Program popularly know as internships. The student needs to work for 4 months compulsorily where in they gain a 16month work experience. The student gains not only academic knowledge but alongside is prepared to face the industry.
The representative from University Of Victoria helped students to understand the scholarship programs as a lot of students were interested to know the same. The students raised various questions in regards with the admission requirements so as to what minimum points would they require, hostel accommodations, campus services, various documentations required and so on.
The assistance of the representative helped the students to understand the application process and the programs in a more precise manner. On behalf of RMCC we would like to thank the University of Victoria, to share the guidelines with the students and also sort out their innumerable queries. This indeed has encouraged and helped our students, and moreover we are sure they have been optimistic to know more about the programs.
