The University has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under the provisions of the UGC (Prevention, Prevention and Control of Violence against Women and College Students) Regulations-2015 and Violence Against Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, Office Order No. 4499 partially modified dated 5 August 2016. This has become obligatory to all the colleges to establish Internal Complaints Committee.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Committee works to solve problems related to sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace. As per UGC guidelines, the College has established ICC with the aim of creating a safe and supportive environment for female staff and students and our main objective is to focus on the guidelines laid down by the University Grant Commission for expeditious investigation of complaints outlined in the UGC Regulations-2015 and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Violence Against Women at Work place Act (Defence , Safety and Security) Act, 2013, which replaced the Vishakha Directive of 1997, mandated the establishment of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) in all Colleges and Universities. To implement these guidelines, the College adopted a Zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our college has established Internal Complaints Committee as per guidelines of UGC to nurture a healthy, secure and supportive environment for female staff and students.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

OBJECTIVES<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Attempts made strictly to adhere to the procedures outlined in UGC-Regulations 2015 and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act for conducting timely investigations into complaints.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Implementing guidelines and norms for a campus policy against Harassment.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Instilling awareness among students and staff about their legal rights under PoSH Act 2013.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      PROCEDURE<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The Internal Complaints Committee serves as a dedicated body formed by the College to address the complaints. Distinct from the Grievances Redressal Cell, Internal Complaints Committee operates with its own procedures and powers providing a safe and secure environment for employees and students of the College.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The College complaints committee sticks to the procedures prescribed by Sexual Harassment of women workplace Act, 2013 and the College rules to address the complaints.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The procedure includes the submission of the written complaints by aggrieved women to the convener of the committee within prescribed period of the incident. The convener of the committee shall convene a meeting and find out amicable solution and report it to College authorities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The women\u2019s Grievances Rederessal Cell Vishakha is committed to protecting and enhancing the well being of all female employees and students within the organization. Considering the gravity of problem Honourable Supreme Court has issued directives to all the Educational Institutions, Colleges and Universities to establish Sexual Harassment Cell\/Committee to safeguard women employees and students from harassment at the work place. The Court has issued mandatory guidelines known as \u201cVishakha Guidelines\u201d to prevent Harassment at work place. The Cell is dedicated to create a safe environment for the employees.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The Internal Complaints Committee is constituted to prevent the harassment at workplace within the College premises ensuring the policy\u2019s implementations through proper reporting and follow up procedures, upholding the commitment of the college to providing congenial environment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The jurisdiction of Internal Complaints Committee is extended to the entire students and staff engaged with the College. The Jurisdiction also covers the off campus employees on official duties .Penalties be imposed for those found guilty range from a bond of good behaviour to dismissal and the Internal Complaints Committee ensures confidentiality and speedy investigations. The College addresses the seriousness of complaints about sexual harassment and abuse. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Creating conducive environment is essential for gender equality and women’s empowerment which is reflected in the action plan of the College. It encompasses various activities related to preventing harassment and promoting gender equality.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The Women Development Cell (WDC) of the Ladhidevi Ramdhar Maheshwari Night College (LRMC) has organized two events in the academic year 2018-19. The WDC is headed by Prof. Neha Kothari with Prof. Ruchi. Pandey and Prof. Shweta Chawda as the members of the cell. WDC has organised \u2018Poster Making Competition\u2019 on the following themes:<\/p>\n

      • Save the girl child<\/li>\n
      • Woman a multi-tasking person<\/li>\n
      • Education in relation to girl child<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The competition was held on 24th September, 2018 for almost 1 hour. There was the participation of 8 students from FYBCOM and SYBCOM in the competition. It unleashed the hidden talent and creativity of the students. They appreciated the theme as it was carrying the Social Message in it. We have declared 1 Winner and 2 Runners Up for the same.<\/p>\n

        Another event organized by WDC of the College was \u2018Guest Lecture cum Martial Arts Training Session\u2019 by Commando Trainer, Master C. K. Singh.<\/p>\n

        The event was conducted on 15th October, 2018 for almost 3 hours. The session was attended by 180 to 200 girls and the In-charge of WDC and members of WDC. The session was not just like an ordinary Guest Lecture it also included practical training session for the girls. The trainer demonstrated the practical ways in which the girls can protect themselves in case of physical harm, if any inflicted, to their body. The training and session was based on the techniques of safety for the girls which were very simple and can be easily implemented by the girl herself. The session was nice eye opener for the girls which uplifted, motivated and empowered them to be independent and self-reliant. The Women Development Cell is looking forward to organize many more such events for the development and empowerment of women.<\/p>\n
