Our Principal and Headmistress Ma\u2019am warmly welcomed the parents and shared the school\u2019s vision for holistic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Parents were briefed about school timings, attendance and safety guidelines. The program began with an introduction to the school\u2019s rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>This was followed by presentations from the respective teachers, who shared an overview of the subjects and activities planned for the academic year. The teachers also highlighted various co-scholastic activities that promote creativity, participation and overall development.<\/p>\n<p>Parents were given an insight into the school\u2019s approach to providing meaningful and engaging learning experiences for children. The competition promoted creativity, innovation and environmental awareness while inspiring students to practise recycling and reuse. The main objective of POSH is that no woman shall be subjected to sexual harassment at any workplace, and it is now mandatory training for all employees.<\/p>\n<p>The session covered the history of the movement, started in 1992 by Bhanwari Devi from Rajasthan, and the enactment of the POSH Act in 2013, built on three pillars \u2014 Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal. It was explained that the policy applies to any institution with more than 10 employees, and that an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) with at least one senior member, two junior members and one external member must be formed.<\/p>\n<p>Staff members also learnt that sexual harassment can take physical, verbal, non-verbal and quid pro quo forms. Students, teachers and parents dressed in colourful traditional chaniya choli and kediya, and danced joyfully to the beats of Garba and Dandiya.<\/p>\n<p>Children also participated in making Dandiya sticks and stick puppets of Durga and Ravana.
