International Collaboration with DSIMS and Ottawa University

As a part of MOU Agreement with Ottawa University (OU), Kansas, USA, DSIMS is sending its PGDM students to OU since 2017 to attend two courses there, namely- Servant Leadership and Business Ethics. The current batch(2018-20) of PGDM students (27 students) are pursuing these courses offered by OU for a period of four weeks.

Besides this, in the month of January 2019, OU students along with their faculty mentors have visited DSIMS Campus for educational and cultural exchange

18 January, 2017 was one of the historic moments in the journey of DSIMS. The DSIMSians witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DSIMS, an emerging institute of huge potential and the Ottawa University of Kansas with a proud 150 years of heritage in building professionals through its undergraduate & graduate programs. The MOU was signed by Hon’ble President of DSIMS and Chairman of RSET, Mr Ashok Saraf and Dr Marylou Dewald, Associate Dean and Director International Programs of Snyder School of Business of Ottawa University, Kansas,USA.

Ottawa University is ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs) accredited Not for Profit University. It provides both on campus and online courses which?focuses on student centric learning. The university is truly International since students from more than 50 countries join the university to experience learning as a medium for?their professional growth. The University was founded in 1865 and since then it’s carrying the rich legacy of providing high quality professional education with innovative pedagogies to diverse student populations. Ottawa, currently serving more than 6000 students, prepare the young populations for lives of enlightened faith, exemplary service, inspired leadership and personal significance. On the other hand DSIMS is dedicated to create future business leaders who will ultimately be the ambassador of Brand India. Therefore in pursuit of common interests and joint endeavors between these two institutions, and in the service of the scholarly and professional development of each organization, the leadership of these Institutes decided to share their academic expertise and cultural resources in higher education.

The MOU broadly encompasses internationalization of both the institutes’ campuses involving student exchange, faculty exchange and research collaboration. The significance of this agreement is that it has already been converted into reality. To continue to promote understanding and goodwill, to strengthen cultural ties, to promote research and development, and to broaden student experience and horizons, Ottawa University and the DSIMS, agreed to initiate the Study Abroad activities. Fifteen PGDM students of DSIMS have been selected on the basis of merit for the eight weeks (in the month of May-June, 2017) Study Abroad Program in Ottawa University. The two highly relevant courses of Modern Businesses, like- Leadership and Value & Ethics will be offered to the Study Abroad students of DSIMS in Ottawa University. There is a provision of weekly Industry Immersion for the DSIMSians as a complement of the classroom sessions of the courses offered. This International Collaboration will indeed be a game changer for the PGDM students at the inflection point of their professional life. This International Exchange program will not only help students to broaden their perspective but also manifold the prospect of their proficiency spectrum globally.
