DSIMS had organised Rural Immersion for PGDM II year students from 7th November 2016 to 11th November 2016 at Ahmednagar district. Total 67 students of PGDM were taken for Rural Immersion. The main objective of this immersion was to sensitize our PGDM students towards the various schemes undertaken by the government in villages, and to study and analyze their execution and effectiveness. Through Rural Immersion our students were exposed to the Economic angle, the Marketing angle and the financial angle of business undertaken in a rural setting.
The places visited were Walki village (for Weekly Bazar), APMC market (for grain transactions and onion auctions), Manjarsumba village (for ideal farming, biogas, vermicompost and water conservation), Shendi village (for rural SHG), Kashti village (for Cooperative society), Shrigonda ( for Sugar factory), Rahuri Agricultural University and Hiwre Bazar ( for Watershed management and concept of ideal village).
