The PGDM program in Media and Communication encompasses learning towards various sectors of the media industry including television, print, digital media, radio, films, live events, sports, out of home, and music.

The program is designed to prepare students in the managerial aspects of the media and communication management with technical knowhow in domain areas. The program focuses on learning the nuances of the media & advertising industry.

The program delves into the correlation that exists between content creation and associated media business. It also gives a thrust on inculcating fundamental core management concepts and principles in the course ware.

PGDM Analytics

    The PGDM Program analytics revolves on three parameters namely:

  • Concept: The fundamentals related to media and management is covered.
  • Application: Through projects and assignments in the areas of Media and Communication with the use of technology.
  • Learning: The focus at DGMC is not only on academic content but also on “Complete Student” i.e. academic & academic plus which includes activities that would develop a student with a sense of responsibility towards serving the society. Manager in Making MEAM, Career Smart, Friday Series and capstone project is going to be the focus area in student development.

Program Design & Development

Program design development is an ongoing activity. It is based on the industry expectations, customer requirements, technology and value added essentials. The flagship program of DGMC i.e. PGDM is designed and developed taking into consideration the changing global scenario, industry essentials as well as regular suggestions from the Board of Studies and Academic Council. Board of Studies is comprised of experts from industry and academia and meet on regular basis. Suggestions of the Board fo Studies are taken to next level, i.e. the Academic Council. In the Academic Council the program architecture, evaluation and assessment pattern, addition /modification/deletion of courses are discussed. Only after the approval the program architecture is finalized. Since the curriculum is evolving it is possible that the program architecture may undergo change from time to time.

* Specializations/ Electives will be offered subject to a minimum batch size of 10 students who have enrolled/opted for the same.
* The courses offered are subject to approval of The Academic Council Members. The curriculum may undergo change as per the advice from Academic Council.

Program Evaluation

Program evaluation methodology is as per the norms approved by the academic council. It follows a continuous evaluation system considering the following parameters:

  1. 40% weightage for the trimester end examination
  2. 60% weightage is made up of assignments, projects, class presentations tests, attendance and participation. The details are communicated at the beginning of the course and is a component of the teaching learning plan.

The evaluation follows GPA and CGPA system



Industry Academia Connect

Under the impetus industry executives are invited to share their experiences with students. Some of the industry experts visited are Red FM, Viacom18, Zee 5, AICL, Magic 9, Sony Pictures, SAB TV, Luminocity.



Capstone Project with Internships - Placement

PGDM students are placed in companies like Ogilvy, Lowe Lintas, Brandcom, Eggfirst, Luminocity, Viacom 18, The Glitch, Fruitbowl, Golinopinion ( A division of Mullen Lowe Lintas), Republic TV, Essel Vision and Free Mantle.



Eligibility Criteria & Selection Methodology

The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Should have passed Bachelors Degree examination in any faculty from a UGC recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA before the commencement of the program.

    or

    Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor's degree examination in any discipline from a UGC recognized university. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the degree examination with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. However such students are required to submits the proof of passing the qualifying examination with required percentage on or before September 25, 2018, failing which the admission offered to them will stand cancelled automatically and the fees paid by them will be forfeited.

  • Candidates should have appeared for any of the following entrance exams:
    CAT/ MH-CET /GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA.
    CAT (Conducted by IIMs)
    MH-CET (conducted by DTE)
    GMAT (conducted by GMAC USA,)

Application Procedure:
  • Download prospectus & application form
  • Submit application form by paying INR 2000/- (through online mode)
  • Appear for Personal Interview as per schedule that will be communicated to you
Fee Structure:
The fees for 2-years are INR 6,45,000/- and includes tuition fees, library fees & computer fees.
An additional refundable security deposit of INR 10,000/- will be charged in the first semester fees.

Fee for International Students:
International Students are requested to contact the office during IST 10am to 6pm for further details.
Accommodation Help:
DGMC helps in finding suitable accommodation for outstation students by connecting to reputed brokers.
The monthly rent could vary form INR 5000/- to INR 15, 000/- on sharing basis depending on amenities & location.
The rent will not include food, electricity, & Internet charges.
We also have a state - of - art Women’s Hostel on campus.
